Little Helper

Asher has really become quite the little helper lately. He loves to be involved in anything that we are doing, especially if it involves water, making a mess, or tools. Whenever he hears the water start running in the sink he runs to the kitchen and starts to pull his stepping stool over to the sink. He is very adept at taking the silverware out of the water and putting it in the rack-- and then taking it back out again and putting it in the water, over and over again.

Here he is helping his Grandpa unload the dishwasher at his Grandparents house

He also really loves to help me make bread by sifting through all the flour. Usually there ends up being more flour on the floor and on him than in the bread!

He also LOVES using tools of any kind. He found this screwdriver and by himself decided to try to "fix" the trash compactor at our cabin in Idaho. First he pulled out the knob and then tried to put the screwdriver in it-- luckily it didn't fit in ;) I didn't even know he knew what a screwdriver was for, let alone how to use one. I am constantly amazed by the things he learns, when I don't think he is even paying attention!

He doesn't know what it is for (thank heavens) but he thinks carrying the plunger around is fun. He has the craziest hair in these pictures-- talk about bad hat hair!

He also insists on having REAL silverware whenever he eats, and the other day he confiscated the salad tongs and tried to feed his dad with them.

Side note: He isn't always in his PJs, as one might think from some of these pictures, but he was sick all last week and I kept in his PJs most of the time. So that is the explanation for his exhibition of lounge wear:)

He is so grown up!!!! I think he looks a lot like Jon! And apparently he's inherited Jon's mechanical skills!

Asher is growing so much! I can't believe how smart he is. He is so adorable, especially when he has crazy hair.

Are you serious? He helps you with the dishes by standing on a stool! He is sooo big. love the hair, I'm all about funky hair. And it's about time somebody fixed that darn trash compactor form the 70's. Holy cow. Way to go little man.

Take a vacation and head south. it's nice and warm and sunny. No snow at all. Call me if you ever decide to visit.

I love his hair in some of those last pics, hehe. He is such a good little helper! I think I'm always underestimating what Jefferson can do - I'm sure he'd help more if I didn't keep trying to keep him out of things, lol. Yay, Asher!
