Today is my first blog-iversary! Exactly one year ago today I resurrected my blog from its inactive state to become the glorious creation you know behold! What an AMAZING year this has been. So much has happened. On my very first post last year Jon and I had just graduated from BYU, we had just moved into the apartment we are in now, and we had just barely announced that Buster (Asher's womb name) was going to be born in December. Now one year later, Buster-- Asher-- is here and almost 6 months old, Jon is starting graduate school, I am getting certified to be a doula, and we are buying a house in Logan! Wow! I can't believe how much changes in one year. It will be exciting to see where my life will be this time next year. It just seems to keep getting better and better.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in my blog (especially if you leave comments!). It has been SO wonderful to be able to share my ideas, my life and my adventures with you and to hear about yours in return. I want to say thank you to all my loyal (or not so loyal) readers by holding a drawing.
So if you want to be in the drawing for a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble leave me a comment (make sure you put your name on it) telling me who you would meet if you could spend 15 min with any person (real or fictional) in the history of the world. I will randomly choose a winner's name from out of a hat on Monday morning!
Just to be fair I'll tell you who I'd meet: Eve, I'd like to get her version of what really happened in the garden. I think it would clear up quite a few things.

Hey Heather!! It's been a while since I read your blog, I had some catching up to do! So you guys are buying a house? That's awesome! And you're becoming a doula! Wow! You'll have to tell me what else is new w/you guys and we will have to get together sometime before we leave. Maybe we could get together w/Amelia and her baby, too! I still haven't seen her since she had her baby.
i think it is fantastic that you are becoming a doula. what an amzing job. have you seen the movie, "the business of being born"? i have a feeling you'd really like it, it's a documentary. you should definitely see it if you haven't yet.
my answer to your question's would probably be elder, (oh i guess president now) uechtdorf...something tells me he'd be really interesting to speak with in person. it'd be fun to have him over for dinner. him or ellen degeneres...now are those two complete opposites or what!? haha!
Wahoo, a drawing, how fun! Well, I came up with a couple of people I'd like to meet --- 1) Joseph Smith - I think it'd be amazing to meet him, and I wanna see what he REALLY looks like (I have never loved any of the actors who portray him in movies); 2) Robert Schumann - he is one of my favorite composers for the piano and he was a genius, but he was crazy and he composed in multiple personalities (cool, huh?) so I think it'd be so interesting to spend 15 minutes with him. I am going to give Jonathan's answer, too - he said he'd like to meet Superman, because he is his idol! hehe :)
Hey Heather- you caught my interest with your question- I decided one of the many I'd like to meet is Corrie Ten Boom- who wrote "The hiding place". She had amazing faith throughout the holocaust and was able to see God's hand even when her situation was by-and-large miserable.
Happy Blogiversary! I would want to meet my great great grandpa who put the first buffalo on Antelope Island, and I would for sure want to meet Harry Potter because I'm a fanatical fan of the series.
Well first and foremost it would be Jesus Christ, one reason being that it would be a fantastic conversation. Sometimes it's hard for me to talk to people, I don't think it would be so hard with him.
Next, my great-great-(maybe one more great)-grandfather John Farrell from Ireland. This man has always intrigued me and as far as I know our family history doesn't have any details about his life, just his origin.
I didn't get my person in on time :) which is fine, but considering that you said Eve, I thought I'd mention the book "Eve and the Choice Made in Eden" by Beverly Campbell (she also has a second one I have but haven't read yet). You can see those and my review on goodreads, but I figured you may enjoy those, both being about Eve and celebrating women and our role. I really liked the book.
