Wow, I am really getting behind with this blog! But I figured I'd better get Rose's birthday up here before it gets to be too ancient of history.
I've decided that second birthdays are a lot of fun but that I just need to prepare myself for tantrums because sharing your toys... or even letting your older brother breathe on them... is quite the emotional stretch for a two-year-old. Lets just say Rose has entered the phase of the "terrible twos" and has thoroughly mastered the concept behind the word "MINE!"
We did two little birthday parties for her, one on Sunday night with my family and the other on Monday afternoon with Jon's family. She was in heaven getting to be with both of her grandpas in one weekend!
I was really impressed with how well she caught onto the idea of opening presents. She didn't need-- and wouldn't take-- any help. She just tore right in.

This is one of my favorite pictures because it captures her personality so well. She was SO possessive of her cake! Later in the day I found her carrying it around (luckily it was in a box) singing about it. It was pretty cute.
This video is also great because I captured the very tail end of one of Rose's tantrums-- which have increased incrementally ever since she turned two I'll have you know! It is also pretty hilarious to see how excited my little sister Brittney is about Rose's pony. I don't know if it is too nerdy to get a 17 year-old a pony for her birthday but I think Brit might just be ecstatic if she got one... hint, hint ;)
