So I've been trying to keep track in my head of all the cute things that my kids have been doing lately because I don't want to forget. But alas, as soon as I sit down to write them I FORGET them. Grrr.
Still I think I can at least get some of them:
So, Asher no longer smiles with his mouth open. I guess that they were taking pictures for primary and someone told him to close his mouth and show his teeth. It sort of makes me sad. It was so funny and cute because he didn't know any better. But I guess it was bound to happen eventually... I mean can you imagine if he had his mouth open in his wedding pictures or something?
He has also been calling vitamins "mighty mighities" and I think it is so cute that I don't even try to correct him. I'm afraid he'll stop. Is it awful that I don't want him to grow up?
This is an old picture-- from his birthday-- but I think it captures his current fascination with tools perfectly.
Jon's brother gave Asher this little scroll saw (I think that is what it is) and he spent hours "cuttin" things. He is so cute with his tool bag. A few months ago he insisted on taking it to his grandma's house because he'd heard Jon mention that their sink was broken. He got all his tools out and tried to fix it. He often does that around the house too. If one of his toys isn't working or something is broken he will run and get his tool bag and offer to help. In all honesty, I can't wait for the day when he REALLY knows how to fix things and then I'll have two handy men around my house!
Rose is turning into more and more of a goof. Really she makes me laugh at least 10 times a day. She is getting to be a really good talker and lately has taken to yelling Asher's name to get his attention. The only problem is that she says his name "Ahhgurr" and the other day Asher took her little face in his hands and said "Rosie, my name is not Ahhgurr it is Asher." He kept trying to correct her and she kept snapping back "Ahhgurr".
She is also SO obsessed with coats-- I guess she takes after her mom-- she has several of them and is usually wearing one of them around the house. A few months ago we left her with a baby sitter and when I got home the sitter apologized because Rose refused to take off her coat during dinner and so it was covered with tomato sauce. She also said that Rose wouldn't take it off to go to bed and so that she was sleeping in it... still all covered in tomato sauce! She is stubborn.
She also LOVES to go places and is definitely not a home body. Whenever anyone mentions the car, outside or going somewhere she will run over grab her coat and shoes and then follow you around until you put them on her. Actually it is getting quite hard to find any shoes around our house because Rosie carries them all over the place!
And lastly, here are some pictures from when we went bowling a few weeks ago. It was really fun and the kids had a blast.

Ha ha! If I could count the times I have had said that. They do grow up so fast. I think every stage is fun and exciting but I am with you why can't we slow it down a little!! Looks like you guys had fun. I love the coat story. :)
I love hearing about the things they do and say. It makes me feel like I know them a little more. Keep writing the everyday things they do. I love it!
I am with you on the not correcting the kidisms! Lincoln calls a flamingo a "pamanengo" that's the only one I can think of right now, but they will definitely be missed when they are gone. So I think I will keep the babyness around as long as possible.
