They are My Guests

Yesterday I was working on some pieces for my book project and I came across this quote that spoke directly to my heart:

“ … may I remind you, that these children did not come to you and ask you to give them bodies, they did not ask you sisters to become mothers and the men to become father of their earthy bodies. The Lord commanded, or course, that we should multiply and replenish the earth. But you, of your own volition, created the bodies for the spirits to take, and these little ones were gracious enough to come to the body you created. They are your guests. You, as hosts, owe to them all of the consideration, all of the love, all of the kindness, all of the patience and courtesy and all the other virtues that it is possible for you to give. They are here because you invited them to come. Thank God for their presence.”

- J. Reuben Clark, Jr. Relief Society Magazine, December 1955, pg. 792
How grateful I am that they were willing to come! When I remember that I am changing the diapers of a future Goddess and training a future God how to put his pants on, it sure makes my job feel much more glamorous. I needed this reminder... thanks J. Reuben Clark, Jr.

Rosie's first pony tail. I can't decide if it looks cute or silly.

These the 3D glasses I got when we went to go see Toy Story 3.
Asher loves them and still wears mine and his around the house whenever he finds them.

That quote made me cry... maybe it's because I'm currently making accommodations in my belly for my little guest :) Thank you for sharing.
