My First Adventrue in Web Design

I just designed my first website... from the bottom up... and I am really excited about it.

You can see it here

It is the website for the Doula Association I belong to and I think it will really help to get the word out about doulas in our community. If you know of anyone in my area who might want a doula PLEASE pass this website on to them!

I'd love to get your honesty opinion about it. Is it aesthetically pleasing? Easy to read and understand? Easy to navigate? Do you feel like you understand what a doula is and what they do after reading it? I'd love some feedback on it.

It was really fun to make and I think it would be fun to take a web design class sometime so that I could do the really fancy stuff. Maybe someday.

By the way... I think my chicks might be hatching soon. This morning one of the eggs had a little crack in it, like someone had pecked their beak at it! So maybe this weekend I'll have some new babies.

i love the website! you have definitely inspired me to look into non-traditional methods of childbirth when that time comes :)

Awesome website. I've said it before, I'll say it again, I totally want a Doula for my next birth. Way bad. But I probably won't get one. :( Money is an issue, and my husband thinks it's a little weird. But... maybe I'll push it anyway. :)

The ICEA link on the Join page doesn't include the "I" at the very beginning.

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh and Lisa Marie, money should NEVER EVER be an issue with hiring a doula. One of the doula "laws" is that every woman who wants one should have a doula regardless of ability to pay. Any good doula will work something out with you. I've personally done payment plans, reduced fees, and trades for things... like my last client was in Jon's graduate program and so she traded us text books for part of the fee. If you want a doula don't worry about the price... AND doulas just got an insurance reimbursement code so many insurance companies are starting to cover doula services.

Just something to think about. As for the husband... it really is your body and the process of labor and birth is going to affect you WAY more than it will him so hopefully he'll come around... eventually.

Heather!! You HAVE to show me how you did this. I really want to learn! It looks wonderful. The only thing that I would recommend is putting a link to the answer to each question on the FAQ page - you know so it automatically navigates you to the answer. I don't know how hard that would be. But that's my only suggestion. It looks amazing and again, I'm coming over and you are giving me a crash course on how you did this! Love you!
